Information we collect

When you look up a domain, we receive the name you submit so we can return WHOIS, DNS, SSL, and rating data.

Our servers and analytics tools may also collect ordinary usage data, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the time of the request.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• Run lookups and show you the results
• Keep the service working, secure, and available
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it

Cookies and analytics

In production we use Google Analytics to measure site traffic. Google may set cookies and receive usage data, including your IP address, on Google's terms and privacy policy. Analytics is not loaded while the site is running in development.

Third parties

A lookup may send the domain name to other services so we can assemble a result:

• Domain registries and registrars, for WHOIS data
• Public DNS resolvers, for DNS records
• The servers that host the name, for SSL certificate details
• Ahrefs, for domain rating
• Google, for analytics

Those parties handle the data they receive under their own policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

Lookup requests are processed to return a result. Server and analytics records are kept only as long as needed to operate, secure, and understand the service, then deleted or aggregated.

Your choices

You can stop using the service at any time. You can also use browser controls to block or delete cookies, which may affect analytics. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to some processing.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
